The attendee should be able to explain the physiologic causes and differences between central and obstructive sleep apnea, as well as the prevalence of this disease process in HF patients, in order to appreciate the significance of each form as it applies to the etiology, management, and prognosis of HF in the clinical setting
The attendee should gain a basic understanding of available screening and treatments for central and obstructive sleep apnea, including novel technologies for each, allowing them to assess their patients’ risk, recommend appropriate screening, and inform them of potential treatment options in order to improve outcomes for the HF patient.
