Paul Heidenreich MD

Dr. Paul Heidenreich (MD, MS) is Professor and Vice-Chair for Quality in the Department of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He is also Chief of Medicine at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. His research has examined the epidemiology, economics and quality of care for heart disease. He served as Chair of the Writing Committee for the 2022 ACC/AHA/HFSA Guideline for the Management of Heart Failure. He has led numerous quality efforts of the American Heart Association including serving as Chairs of the AHA Quality of Care and Outcomes Research Council, the ACC/AHA Task Force on Performance Measurement, the ACC/AHA Task Force on Data Standards, and the Writing Committee for the ACC/AHA Heart Failure Performance Measures.
