Kristin Dixon PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, PCCN-K, CHFN

Kristin Dixon is a PhD prepared Adult CNS specialist who was among the first national cohort of Certified Heart Failure Nurses. Dr. Dixon’s research interests include Cognition in Acute Decompensated Heart Failure, patient education and reducing readmissions. She was awarded the PCNA Heart Failure Prevention Research Award 2015. She has led several data-driven and evidence-based projects that have resulted in measurable improvements in patient care, health system processes, and educational outcomes. She has changed care and processes for cardiac patients across the continuum to be higher quality and at a lower cost across my health care system. Today she oversees the Doctorate of Nursing Practice projects at Scripps founded the Nursing Excellence Support Team (NEST) at Scripps Health where we combine teamwork to ensure successful outcomes that advance CNS practice and nursing.
