Meredith Brisco-Bacik MD, MSCE

Director of Heart Failure Clinical Research, Temple Heart and Vascular Institute

Dr. Meredith Brisco-Bacik is Associate Professor of Medicine at Temple University here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she serves as Director of Heart Failure Clinical Research. She is also a member of the Heart Failure and Transplant Section within the Cardiovascular Division. Dr. Brisco-Bacik completed her medical degree at University of Maryland and went on to train in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. She subsequently completed her cardiology and advanced heart failure training at the University of Pennsylvania where she also earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology.

Dr. Brisco-Bacik's research interests include cardiorenal dysfunction in heart failure and mechanisms of renal dysfunction in patients on mechanical circulatory support for which she currently receives funding from the NIH. She has co-authored more than 30 manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts, and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. She serves as an Associate Editor for Circulation: Heart Failure where she also oversees their Early Career Investigator initiative.
